Dawn hosting breakout session at IARP Conference on Medical Bill Reviews
The International Association of Rehabilitation Professionals (IARP) Annual Conference is taking place November 12-13 virtually. The conference will offer sessions that go beyond the broad spectrum into the fine detail of the expert’s methodology, introduce new ideas and skills for rehabilitation and life care planning professionals, and create opinions based on best practices and solid evidence-based research.
The keynote speaker this year is Laura Biel, an investigative journalist with a specialization in medical journalism and creator of the podcasts, Dr. Death and Bad Batch.
Dawn Cook will be hosting a breakout session on Saturday, November 13 from 10:45 am – 12:15 pm CST titled The Five Most Common Problems with Past Medical Bills. In this presentation, Dawn will outline what to look for when analyzing bills, report formatting, data entry, using physician opinions, and cost research. She will also be discussing common problems in bill reviews including unbundling codes, incorrect billing rules, incorrect code use, excessive charges, assistants to surgery billing, and more.
Dawn Cook has prepared over 300 past medical bill reviews for plaintiff and defense attorneys (and over 500 in life care planning). Learn how to analyze past medical bills and the most common problems, and how to determine the correct codes, rules, and guidelines.
